Hello. Recently I got a ROG Strix G16 G614PR to use for work and also gaming so, my plan was to use Linux on it.
It came with the Bios version G614PR.302 and everything was ok. Then, I had the idea to keep the Bios updated, then I upgraded to the G614PR.303 and started getting this kernel message upon booting the OS:
Its annoying, but ok... then, yesterday I noticed the version G614PR.307 was available and I updated to it.
The kernel message still persists but, I noticed it takes A LOT of time to even boot the os.
I turn the notebook on and the ROG logo stays for almost 2 minutes and then, it starts loading the OS.
I think I need somehow this to be forwared to Asus people right?
Thanks

@wlmirand
Since we have not tested the Linux system, we cannot guarantee its stability and compatibility. We recommend installing a Microsoft operating system on your laptop to confirm the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

When I get a computer, im paying for the hardware and since it follows the x86_64 architecture, I am free to use any OS and, for work reasons using Microsoft stuff is a no-go.

You made a mistake by updating the BIOS to version 307. Now you won't be able to go back to the previous version. Wisely, Asus has blocked downgrading the BIOS. I created a thread about this problem. Linux worked fine for me on version 301. If Asus doesn't test its laptops on Linux, then don't sell laptops without Windows. You can even buy laptops without Windows in your store. Please fix this. It's very irritating.

Yes, I agree and if I could I would rollback to 302 but, how should I know??
Linux is a free OS, how Asus does not even consider running it. Really sad.

Did you find a way to downgrade the BIOS from Linux? EZ Flash won't allow me to go back to 301 from 307. This is such an inconvenience.

Cannot downgrade.
Im hoping they fix this for next versions.

It's alright if you don't test Linux. It's not alright to force users to use buggy BIOSes and not allow us to downgrade. Such a bad customer experience. If we spend $$$ in your products we also expect to be able to use them however we want.

100% agree. I bought a computer so, I am supposed to use it they way I want.
