The ROG SCAR 16 looks to be an almost perfect gaming laptop for me. 4080, incredible performance, decent battery, lots of IO... but I'm concerned about one glaring flaw: the baffling placement of the indicator lights for power, charging, and drive activity. All located right beneath the display and facing the user, in particular the drive activity light seems like it would be an annoyance while trying to do anything with the laptop in a dimly lit room. I'm not the only one who feels this way, either, and unfortunately the ROG M16's lights shining up and creating glare on the screen isn't a whole lot better.
Does anyone have experience with this? Do any ASUS staff monitor this forum who might be able to pass along the message to the design team? I'd really like to buy next year's model if they can put the indicator lights unobtrusively on the side or the front like every other laptop manufacturer. But for now, I'm not prepared to drop almost $3000 on a laptop just for it to blink drive activity in my face every time I want to sit down and play a game.

Hello Anbby,
Thank you for answering.
I do understand, in that case I agree with Brainstatic: Asus should consider better lndicator light placement for next generation of Strix Laptops.
Kind regards

I do agree : would it be possible to add an option to turn them off in a future Bios update?
Kind regards

Hi @Flo ,
Thank you for your suggestion.
Due to the nature of the hardware device, the indicator light cannot be turned off.
If the indicator light is turned off, it may lead to a misjudgment of the hardware device's operation.
We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.
