Rog G18 washed out colors display

xklltt
Level 8

Hi there from 2025.
I see a few same threads in forum about this issue like this: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-notebooks/gamevisual-causes-color-saturation-fade-when-using-ig... or that: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-notebooks/screen-is-grayish-and-poorly-saturated/m-p/1025806#M5.... I have same problem about year ago, and last time rollback ASUS System Control Interface V3 driver to version 3.1.27.0 helps me.
But now problem comeback, and solution with rollback driver won't help. Even manually install 3.1.27.0 version won't helps too.

May be other solution exists?

Temporary solution is deactivate GameVisual effect in Armoury Crate but colors not same as before and disabling this feature not a good idea

Thx.

Could you please try using the ASUS-validated Intel Graphics Driver version V32.0.101.6314 and NVIDIA Display Driver version V32.0.15.6607, and update ASUS System Control Interface v3 to the latest version V3.1.43 to see if the issue improves?

If the problem persists, does it usually occur when using the iGPU or the dGPU?

Could you also provide relevant screenshots and the following information so we can further investigate and confirm? Thank you.

  • BIOS Version:
  • Windows Build Version: (Settings - System - About)
  • iGPU/dGPU Driver Version:
  • GPU Mode Settings in Armoury Crate:

The problem occur in both cases I prefer use `Optimus` mode

Steps what I already tried:

  1. Update Windows
  2. Update all drivers
  3. Downgrade  ASUS System Control Interface v3 to previous version
  4. Downgrade  ASUS System Control Interface v3 to old versions (3.1.27.0 | 3.1.20.0 | 3.1.30.0)

@xklltt
The graphics card driver you are using is a generic driver.
Please go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics card. Then, install the graphics card driver provided on the ASUS website and check if the issue is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Apologies, but since your device is the G814Jl, the currently verified NVIDIA graphics driver on the official website is Version V32.0.15.6607.
Could you please try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the current graphics driver and then reinstall the ASUS-verified driver to test?

As there have not been similar reports from other users so far, and you mentioned that disabling GameVisual in Armoury Crate still results in noticeable color differences, could you please share relevant screenshots showing both the normal and faded color states so we can further assess the issue?

Additionally, Please tried uninstalling Armoury Crate using the uninstall tool, and then reinstalling  Armoury Crate to see if there is any improvement? This would greatly help us in verifying the root cause. Thank you!

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

Thank you for providing the photos and video. Could you please enable the log recording function in Armoury Crate, then toggle GameVisual off and on again? Afterward, please send us the following information via private message. We'll then provide this to our technical team for further investigation. Thank you.

Serial Number:
BIOS Version:
Windows Build Version: (Settings - System - About)
GPU Mode Settings in Armoury Crate:
Armoury Crate > Settings > About > Service Version > Check Button (Copy all content):

【Here is the file path for the log file for your reference】
In Armoury Crate ""Settings"" and check ""About"" page, If clicking App Diagnostics ""Record Log"", the Privacy Policy Statement will pop out. Once user agreed statement, the Armoury Crate will start to collect problem log  and you can click ""Generate log data"" to generate the log file with encrypted (ASUS log file).

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
