ROG Flow Z13 Tablet Keyboard

Hi. I was recommended to post this message into this forum from the moderator in the ASUS Zendesk.

My keyboard no longer works when the magnetic section is attached to the screen. I have searched a lot online and there are many people with the same issue. This keyboard is evidently not sold separately?

ASUS must be aware of this significant issue impacting owners of the ROG Flow Z13.

Why has nothing been done to rectify this problem, firstly in terms of supporting owners with replacement options (even if this comes at a cost outside of warranty) and secondly in terms of improving the durability of the keyboard at a fundamental level to avoid or reduce the occurrence of this problem?

I have the same issue. They aren't very helpful. They know this is an issue, but they want you to send in your unit. Just send a keyboard, hopefully, a better made keyboard. Are there any Asus techs in this forum that can escalate or get something done?

Edit:

I sent my keyboard in for RMA, hopefully they'll replace it. If not ill buy a new one. I hope the new keyboards will have less issues, but I have my doubts.

Even I am having the same problem..is there any permanent solution to this or replacing the keyboard is the only option? @Anbby_ROG

Daivik08: Unfortunately, there is no other solution but to replace the keyboard. Since this is a physical fault, there is no other solution than replacement. Don't expect much help from ASUS, I want to avoid replacing hundreds of thousands of keyboards at all costs.

But there is no guarantee that the replaced keyboard will not have the same issue...we cant keep changing the keyboard every year.

This is also my concern. My keyboard lasted about 8 months. I'm hoping the newer keyboards have a better build quality, but I'm betting they don't. Buying an OEM keyboard comes with a three month warranty, and they last for about a year. so you'll end up spending 800 bucks over the life of the device, unless you just use it very sparingly.

The replacement keyboard I got through RMA seems better than the original one

I am having the same issue and have followed the listed instructions. Can someone help?

Me too!

Just started happening about 1 month ago.

Also, the keyboard only works on certain surfaces... eg: on my bed (not a stable table) it would work in certain positions, but not in others.

Did  you rma your device?

I was able to claim my warranty in Hong Kong and exchange for a new keyboard. How lucky I am?
