First of all, I'm very disappointed with my choice of buying this ROG Flow Z13 (2022) model in UK. I bought one for myself and one for my wife in 2022 with high hopes of it being the ultimate PC with good gaming specs and portability.
Right after a year, when the warranty ran out, both of the keyboards stopped working at a normal typing angle. It's been getting worse and worse over time, and now it has to be folded/rolled to the front to make it work, which is too ridiculous to use. I sent an email to customer service and they replied:
Refuse the quote and have your item delivered back to you unrepaired (for a small fee)
Refuse the quote and ask the repair centre to dispose of the unit on your behalf (no fee)
Accept the quote (pay the full amount) and have the device fully repaired and returned to you.
In the event that your unit is outside of the warranty period, or it has suffered customer-induced damage, there would be a £45 fee (which covers shipping, handling, and inspection costs). You can raise a chargeable repair request via the following link: https://eu-rma.asus.com/uk
Since early this year, ghost touches on the screen have started happening on my PC every once in a while. Now it's getting more frequent, so I disabled the touchscreen through Device Manager.
Slow boot-up time. It's a shame that my much older HP laptop, with a Core i3 and less RAM, boots up faster than this. The same amount of software is installed. I found out that some people uninstall Armoury Crate to improve system performance.
Now I’ve also found out that lots of people have the same problem with this keyboard, so I don’t think it's a wise decision to send both keyboards in for inspection (a total of £90) and possibly be told that they can't be repaired, wasting the inspection fees. I regret that I didn’t research enough before I bought it, since I believed Asus was a reputable company and I had never experienced a keyboard — which is a basic/integral part of a laptop — being this flawed.
I paid £2,804.93 back in 2022 for two units of this ROG Flow Z13. I could have received a discount on Samsung and HP based on my occupation, but I opted for Asus for the better design. But now it's sitting at home like a desktop PC with a disabled touchscreen, connected to an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
This may just be “2” unlucky units for me, but I also want other people to be aware, as it fails its primary/basic purpose of being a “laptop” for us. Since the price of £2,804.93 is significant for us, I will think more than twice — or may not buy Asus again.
Regards,
Khine

all customer service said was they going to charge $60 for evaluation, $80 for labour etc. etc. YOU ARE NOT ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM. This is a widespread issues with posts on forums and reddit. They keyboard is flawed.
instead of doing a recall you want me to pay more? I already had is replaced once for the same problem.

Thanks for reply @Anbby_ROG and @Falcon2_ROG. I haven't even proceeded with the RMA request because I saw that the handling fees alone is £45, and there might be additional charges, as Twinkly mentioned. I still don't feel like the fees are worth it. The issues started right after a year, which is too soon, compared to my older laptops and it's not exactly a cheap device either. A lot of reviews over the internet about this keyboard problem and Asus is not recalling and charging handling fees etc is a bit wild, in my opinion.
