Hi All,
I had my ROG Flow X16 2022 repaired under ASUS Warranty in June 2024. Specifically, they replaced the motherboard due to issues with the M.2 NVMe SSD slot. You can find the discussion before the repair here: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-notebooks/rog-flow-x16-ssd-pci-issues-and-bsod/m-p/979157#M4672.
However, I'm still experiencing two issues:
1. Touch Screen Ghost Movements and Touches

The touch screen generates ghost touches randomly, both in Windows and Linux. This issue occurs intermittently, perhaps once every few days, and I can't reproduce it intentionally. It was reported to ASUS during the first repair attempt but was not fixed. I suspect the issue didn't appear during their checks.
2. Random Shutdowns
This issue happens once every few days in both Windows and Linux. Most of the time, there is nothing in the crash logs, both in Windows and Linux. On 26/08, a Windows crash was attributed to an NVIDIA issue. However, the NVIDIA graphics card generally works fine under load for hours. This issue happened under intense workload and in idle, further investigation is needed.
3. NVMe warnings in Linux
I'm still investigating these warnings.
Example
Sep 01 12:11:41 fedora kernel: nvme 0000:06:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) Sep 01 12:11:41 fedora kernel: nvme 0000:06:00.0: device [1344:5407] error status/mask=00000001/00002000 Sep 01 12:11:41 fedora kernel: nvme 0000:06:00.0: [ 0] RxErr (First)
How to fix all of the above issues (primarily 1 and 2) considering they're hard to reproduce and it seems the warranty service might not be able to replicate them in the short laptop check?

It seems like the issue 3 with NVME warnings is temporary solved - I've moved the SSD to another slot.
Here are the links to other threads with the same error:

@Anbby_ROG, thank you for your message. I'm in the process of compiling the information for you.
Could you please advise on how to report and document the first issue to the ASUS Warranty team, considering the following:
I believe this question can be answering without my personal information. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The progress so far.
1. Touch Screen Ghost Movements and Touches
Other topics on Reddit with exactly the same issue.
2022 X16 Flow
2023 X16 Flow
Not sure how to make ASUS reproduce this.
2. Random Shutdowns
Yesterday after disabling Link State Power Management there were no warnings in the Linux log. However, today NVIDIA video card disappeared - I can't see it in both Windows and Linux, and even in BIOS.
3. NVMe warnings in Linux
There are no these warning messages in the following cases:
- running on battery
- SSD is in secondary slot
- ASPM is disabled via kernel parameter pcie_aspm=off

The NVIDIA card is now visible and seem to work after relocating the SSD to a secondary slot.
