Rog Flow X13 + Nvidia drivers

Hi,

So recently I updated Indiana Jones and the great circle and ..I can't play it because the driver is not up to date. I am using the one provided by Asus 555.97.

How safe would be to install one from nvidia? what about the custom changes that Asus made? will affect the laptop if I move away from Asus?

While I understand that should work, I am worried, so far the ROG Flow x13 is working perfectly(temps/battery etc) from preorder,  and I don't want to break it, only one time I was forced to clean install all.

Cheers to anyone how can help, specially if a moderator on someone from Asus can warranty the update.

Cheers,

Nobody? I don't want to risk a £2k laptop..any moderator that can verify if it is ok to install stock Nvidia drivers? or I should stick with the one proved by asus (555.97)

Hi, thanks to move it here but do we not have any answer yet? thanks in advance

@AlexMcAin
To ensure system stability and compatibility, we generally recommend installing the official drivers provided on the ASUS website. These drivers have been tested and optimized for your specific model to ensure full functionality and prevent potential compatibility or stability issues. If you need a newer version of the driver, we suggest checking the ASUS download page regularly, or using MyASUS / Armoury Crate to check for updates.

HI, after installing the Nvidia driver that you downloaded from the Asus/Rog support page for the Rog Flow X13, you can update it from the GeForce Experience app or the Nvidia App depending on whether the driver is recent.

Hi! both,

Thank you so much for the answers!!! really appreciated. Now Answering:

@Falcon2_ROG Yes I have the latest available on the support page that is the Graphic_DCH_ROG_SD_NVIDIA_Z_V32.0.15.5597_38508 means 555.97 in the device drivers windows screen. This is from last year so passed a lot already for the ROG flow x13 2023/w RTX 4060 t be up to date.

@cekeu  I read about this yes, doing a clean install... but can you assure me that will not break anything with thermals or power profiles etc etc in the aforementioned Notebook?, so far I am a lucky one that only one time needed to reset using the BIOS recovery(at the 3th month after purchase preorder) but till now everything is working great!, and reading a lot of comments on Reddit and everywhere I want to be 300% sure...technically you are right should not cause any issue etc etc, but dunno if ASUS devs did a change to match some feature inside Armoury Crate.

I have the ROG Flow X13 (2022 Version) and a desktop PC. For the ROG Flow X13, I've always updated it from the Nvidia App. Also check if MyAsus Driver offers the update.

The problems you're worried about could be caused by other factors, such as an overly restrictive antivirus program or a broken registry.

If you uninstall Armoury Crate and reinstall it due to a bug, you should use the Armoury Crate Uninstaller and no other method.

Also, there's no need to uninstall the current Nvidia driver; simply select "Fresh Install" in the Nvidia Driver Installer dialog box to reset the settings to their defaults, or select "Express Install" to keep your settings and game optimizations.

And anyway, you need to update it so you can run Indiana Jones and the Great Circle games.

@cekeu so you are in the latest nvidia studio drivers? did you notice any change in temps or stability?, again thanks for following this.

Hello, sorry I'm late getting back here. I have no problems with updates.
After downloading and installing the graphics driver from the ROG Flow X13 support page, open the GeforceExperience or NvidiaApp application and download and install the latest graphics driver from there.
In any case, you'll have to do this at some point, if only to be compatible with ArmouryCrate, which also receives updates. For example, a few months ago, I had to update the graphics drivers because my card was no longer detected by Windows or even ArmouryCrate.
There are no problems with the sensors, temperature, or stability.

Hi @cekeu no worries and thanks ...well I will try that then. @Falcon2_ROG if you can validate too the link with someone of the ROG notebooks department I will really appreciated.
