Hello all,
I just got the ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2025) (G835LX-XS97) it has a USB mouse and an Xbox controller dongle plugged in. I'm having an issue where randomly I will here the windows sound of a USB device disconnecting and I will lose all my USB devices, this includes the connected devices mentioned above as well as the built in keyboard, camera, RGB under lighting everything except the built in touch pad, sometimes, sometimes I lose it too. When this happens all I can do is hard power off and reboot. I have tried removing and reinstalling drivers, in various different combinations including removing and reinstalling all windows drivers with reboots in between. The day I receive my laptop the "my Asus" app automatically install bios version 313, I tried going back to 309 (I think the version was), I also tried reinstalling version 313 and yesterday I installed version 315. None of this seems to work.
To note this seems to only happen when gaming, but it has happened in multiple games on Steam, EA, and Xbox platforms. Once in a while if I wait 2 or 3 minutes the devices will reconnect but most of the time I'm dead in the water requiring a hard reboot.

It seems that a reinstall of windows has fixed my issue, I tried the built in restore first same issue. I did a complete formate and reinstall, installing all the drivers and Asus software myself. That fixed the issue. So it would seem the issue lies in Asus' image they are installing on these laptops. Also to note the Intel RST driver is required during windows setup, without windows can't see you storage. I searched everywhere on Asus' website for this driver, as Intel doesn't provide it, all I can fine is the exe driver for installing inside of windows. I did find one on MSI's website that worked. for those who might need it, it can be found here https://us.msi.com/Laptop/Titan-18-HX-AI-A2XWX/support?sku_id=96017#driver you need the F6 driver.

I too am having this same issue and the built in restore did not fix it for me either. I've gone through 3 days of painstakingly removing and adding updates and all, in hope of sorting this out. I'm really not interested in doing another Windows reinstall, especially one where I have to install the RST drivers and then literally every package that comes preinstalled. Can we get a response from Asus on this??

Thank you very much for the information! I am still waiting for my G835LX-XS97 and I will keep in mind if such problem occure. Did you make any other upgrades or changes into the system - RAM, SSD, removing RAID 0???

I put 64 GB of Gskill and a 4tb WD 850 as a second drive no raid. I removed the upgrades and replaced the stock ram and I still have the same issue. So I don't believe it is related to ram or storage.

Please unmark your comment as a solution. I unmarked mine. I'm hoping with all the people now writing about the same issue Asus will chime in.
Thursday
I was able to do it from the pc, it wasn't working from my phone.

Hey. How's your laptop doing so far? Started experiencing this on the day 1, it's so frustrating honestly. Windows reinstallation didn't help.
Are we the only ones?
My model is G835LX - SA015

Well it was good for about a week or so I thought my son is telling it happened to him almost right away when he was playing Jeti Surviver. The laptop works fine till I/we try to play a game. It will happen randomly no matter what game I'm playing. It could be Steam, Epic, EA, Battlenet, or Xbox it doesn't matter the game or platform. It is super annoying. I will say it doesn't seem to happen as much after doing a full manual fresh install. But not a fix.
