Random Restart Issue on ASUS ROG Strix G513RC

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with my ASUS ROG Strix G513RC where the laptop randomly restarts without any warning or error messages (no BSOD). I've been troubleshooting for some time, and I’d like to provide as much detail as possible to get your expert assistance.

This laptop is still under guarantee. I have sent it to the local Asus Service Center twice, but still have not found a solution yet. I keep having the same problem.

Problem Explanation:

  • Symptoms: The laptop abruptly restarts during various scenarios — whether running on battery or connected to the charger.
  • Frequency: The random restarts happen inconsistently, sometimes during heavy tasks (like running virtual machines) and other times when the system is idle.
  • Power Mode: I've tried using different power modes (Windows, Silent, Performance, and Turbo via Armoury Crate), but the issue persists.

What I've Done So Far:

  1. Hardware Checks:
    • SSD & RAM Tests: I ran MyASUS Diagnostic Test and Memtest — both showed no issues.
    • Stress Tests: Monitored temps and system behavior using HWInfo.
  2. BIOS:
    • Downgraded BIOS to version 325.
  3. Power Modes:
    • Tested battery-only mode — restarts still occurred.
  4. Temperature & Logs:
    • Used HWInfo to monitor CPU/GPU temps, voltages, and power draw.
    • Collected logs from Armoury Crate and HWInfo during the latest crash.
  5. System Logs:
    • Checked Event Viewer — logs show Kernel-Power 41 critical errors.
    • ACPI thermal zone values in HWInfo seem broken (_PSV and ACx show 0K).
    • GPU Core Input Power (NVVDD) briefly shows 0.0W before restart — suggesting a sudden power loss.

Key Findings from HWInfo Logs:

  • GPU Thermal Limit: 75°C, with spikes up to 87°C — seems normal but worth mentioning.
  • GPU Core Input Power (NVVDD): drops to 0.0W just before the restart.
  • ACPI thermal zone values: show _PSV = 0K and ACx = 0K — could be a firmware or BIOS issue.
  • Kernel-Power 41 errors in Event Viewer — indicating an unexpected power event.

Files Available for Analysis:

I’ve collected the following logs and can share them upon request:

  1. HWInfo logs — showing temps, voltages, and power data leading up to the crash.
  2. Armoury Crate logs — detailing power mode settings.
  3. Event Viewer logs — highlighting Kernel-Power 41 errors.

I truly appreciate any insights the ASUS team or the community can provide. Let me know if there are any specific logs or tests you'd like me to run to diagnose this issue further.

I am having similar issues with my Zephyrus G16 except only when idle. Has a BIOS issue been confirmed? This started happening for me after the latest BIOS version for my device.
