RAM chips?

MikeFL

I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14 GA402R laptop that has been frequently crashing mid-work and blue screening upon most - but not all - boots. A local computer repair shop diagnosed the problem as bad RAM (both the 8GB onboard chip and the 8GB removable chip were determined to be defective).

Can I put a new 16GB chip into the expansion RAM slot and disable the onboard RAM? If so, would that 16GB work as well as my 8GB + 8GB did before it broke? Thank you.

Since the onboard RAM is part of the motherboard, it cannot be disabled individually.

Based on your description, we recommend contacting your local authorized service center for further RMA support. Thank you.
