Problem after installing BIOS 336 – ROG Strix G17 (2023) G713

After installing BIOS version 336 on my ROG Strix G17 (2023) G713, my laptop started shutting down automatically every time I tried to log in to Windows. This happened both when plugged in and when running on battery power.

After several failed attempts to start Windows, I entered the BIOS and selected the option to use only the dedicated GPU (previously, I was using the hybrid mode that switches between the integrated and dedicated graphics depending on workload). With this change, I was able to boot normally. I restarted several times without any issues.

However, when I opened Armoury Crate and re-enabled the hybrid mode, the problem reappeared, the laptop shut down automatically right after logging in to Windows. I went back into the BIOS, set it again to use only the dedicated GPU and was able to log in without problems.

Based on this, I’ve concluded that the issue (or bug) occurs when the system tries to automatically switch between the integrated and dedicated GPUs. This has also been reported by several other users online. It’s quite problematic since I don’t always need to use the dedicated GPU at full performance and this situation significantly reduces battery life. It’s disappointing that a native feature in Armoury Crate can no longer be used properly due to a BIOS update released directly by ASUS.

For reference, I never experienced this issue with BIOS version 334.
I’m posting this to report the bug to ASUS and to share a temporary workaround for anyone facing the same problem: set the system to use only the dedicated GPU in the BIOS.

After performing BIOS update 336, I'm having problems with the fans and can't control them. ASUS laptops already have overheating issues; it's obvious where this leads—complete system failure. ASUS ROG Strix G17

ausus rog strix g17

For those who have the same problem:
completely uninstall and reinstall Armoury Crate.
The fans will respond again. However, the CPU fan speed is not recognized in the BIOS.

als info für die ,die das selbe problem haben
armoury crate kommplett deinstallieren und neu installieren
die lüfter reagieren wieder
aber im bios wird der cpu lüfter drehzahl nicht erkannt

May I know the full model of the laptop you are using? What are the current system version, OS build, and graphics driver version?
Have you tried restoring the BIOS to its default settings?
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

Hey, thaks for replay.
Windows 11, 10.0.26200 build 26200
Graphics driver version: 32.0.21033.2001
I have already tried restoring the default configuration, but the problem persists. How can I revert to a previous BIOS version (334)? I didn’t have this issue with that version.
