I've been dealing with this issue for months now, across multiple BIOS and firmware updates, and it's getting frustrating.
On my brand-new 2025 ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU605CR) — Intel Core Ultra 9, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 240Hz OLED display — with BIOS fully up to date, I’m still getting random micro-stutters both in games and even while just browsing or moving the mouse on the desktop.
It’s subtle but very noticeable once you spot it — the mouse cursor hangs for a split second, audio crackles, and games hitch for a frame or two.
LatencyMon confirms the issue within minutes:
This is not normal behavior for a high-end gaming laptop. I’ve tested multiple BIOS versions and firmware updates released by ASUS — none of them have made any difference. The issue persists exactly the same across all versions.
Please stop dismissing this as a Windows or driver quirk — this is clearly a firmware or ACPI-level latency problem that’s been reported repeatedly since at least 2021. The fact that it still affects brand-new 2025 Zephyrus models is unacceptable.
A laptop at this level should not have such inconsistent real-time performance baked into the system.
