New Laptop off Amazon Serial Number Already Registered

I recently bought 2022 ROG Zephyrus M16 off Amazon, which was supposed to be new, however when I tried to register the laptop online, it tells me that the serial number has already been registered. Is there some kind of bug, or have I been sold a pre owned laptop, pased of as new?
