Need Help!!! m.2 SSD upgrade in G731Gu.

I bought a new G713PV for myself and want to update my G731PU for my daughter.  I tried to upgrade my SSD to a faster Crucial P3 Plus 1TB and a Samsung 990 Evo Plus but neither are recognized by the computer.  After cloning each and installing in the computer, I just get stuck at the Asus logo and can't enter bios either.  I tried using the case I cloned in and plug them into the usb but the computer still won't recognize them.   The cloning software can find them to clone but the computer will not see them to use them.  They both work fine if I plug them into my new G713PV USB to view them. 

What 1tb SSD m.2 can I use for my computer? Or what has other people got to work?
