So I have been trying to use Xbox game bar in order to talk with my friends while playing a game however it will not use my microphone in the party but still picks it up in the audio widget. this has been a problem for with other games installed through steam as well. It may be do to my laptop I am using a ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) GU605. So far I have tried:
Checking permissions
Making sure the mic is not muted (all three ways)
Turning of any AI stuff
Going through device manager
All drivers are up to data
Device rest through windows update and through the rest
Repairing the app
I am running out of ideas of what to do and would greatly appreciate any help.

Hi @Bravemar ,
I would like to confirm if you are currently using the built-in microphone of the GU605? Does the microphone function normally in other software?
Regarding the issue with the microphone not working in the Xbox Game Bar party, it seems that many users are experiencing this problem on different laptop models. Have you checked that the audio device is set to the built-in microphone? Also, please confirm if you have enabled "Push to Talk." If this feature is enabled, you need to press the assigned key to talk to the party (like a walkie-talkie). Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. Based on the discussion, it seems that this is a common issue in Xbox Party. If you are only experiencing microphone issues with Xbox, we recommend testing with another Xbox account or trying Discord for testing. Additionally, please report this issue to Microsoft for further troubleshooting. The above information is provided for your reference. Thank you.

It seems to only be a problem with my ROG laptop.
