Micro stutters G16

Hi everyone, I have a brand new Rog Strix G16 which suffers with micro stutters every now and again where the mouse cursor lags for a few micro seconds. It's really frustrating. I have restored the laptop back to factory settings and the issue still persists. It happens a few times a day.

 

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi @OnlyAlex ,

I would like to ask whether the issue of stutters occurs in all software or only in specific ones.
Additionally, apart from the delay in the mouse cursor, are there any abnormalities in other usages? If the problem is only related to the delay in the mouse cursor, have you tried testing with a different mouse?
Have you replaced or installed any hardware devices? If you have, please try reverting to the original hardware configuration to see if the issue persists. Thank you.

Hi, it happens on the desktop, on Chrome and playing games - so pretty much anywhere. I have used both the inbuilt mouse trackpad and an external mouse.

I haven’t replaced or changed any hardware, and the device was restored to factory settings last week.

I have read threads that it relates to the lighting service so I have turned off the RGB and touch wood that seems to have resolved the issue, but it’s unacceptable that we cannot have our RGB working.

I’m afraid to say I won’t be buying ASUS again in the future.

Hi @PhilipDomingue - the issue seems to have resolved by itself, I'm afraid to say I'm not sure what resolved the issue. I would encourage you to check for any updates in the MyASUS app & Armoury Crate. In the interim, just using static lighting on the RGB keyboard should be a workaround for you as that's what I did until the issue was resolved.

There was an update on the drivers through ge force experience recently that solved most of it, only Fortinite still stutter a little bit but nothing like before I can actually play now.

That's good to hear. The issue for me has mostly gone away too, but still occasional lag relating to LightingService.Exe
