Hello, all. Over the past several months, I've been experiencing huge frame drops in certain games and am at my wit's end trying to solve the problem.
I first noticed the issue when trying to play Destiny 2 on my laptop (Zephyrus G15). I previously ran the game on high graphics settings with no problem, but seemingly out of nowhere, my frame rate would drop from the 90s/low 100s to 20 or even lower. It does this every 5-10 seconds or so, and immediately shoots back up to the regular frame rate. Obviously, I tried putting the graphics on the lowest settings possible, as well as changing many other in-game settings, but nothing worked.
I also tested other games to see if it was a problem that's unique to Destiny 2, but it's not; for example, I have the same issue with PGA 2K23. However, a game like Starcraft 2 runs normally, even on the highest graphics settings, as I consistently get 150+ FPS.
The GPU temperatures seem relatively normal: according to NVIDIA, they're between 80-85 C while Destiny 2 is running.
I've updated everything that I can think of: Windows, NVIDIA drivers, and even my BIOS. My laptop is plugged in and the power settings are on "High Performance."
I've been troubleshooting the problem for hours today and have tried many other potential solutions, but nothing has worked.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or know what the problem might be?
Any help is tremendously appreciated.

To further clarify your issue, could you please share the exact model of your laptop?
You mentioned that you have updated all drivers and the BIOS. Could you also share the current BIOS version and graphics driver version you are using?
Additionally, when playing games, have you set the GPU to Ultimate Mode and the fan mode to Turbo in Armoury Crate? Thank you.

Here's my system information:
My GPU driver version is 566.14 (updated on November 12, 2024).
I haven't set the GPU to Ultimate Mode and the fan mode to Turbo in Armoury Crate. I'll do that and edit this response if it fixes the problem.
*edit* I don't see the option to switch the GPU to Ultimate Mode or the fan to Turbo mode in Armoury Crate. Where can I find these? I'm using version 5.9.9.0.

Thank you for the information. After verification, the GA502IV does not have a GPU adjustment option in Armoury Crate. Please try adjusting the Operating Mode to Turbo Mode and test again.
Based on your description, the issue seems to occur only with specific games. We noticed that you recently updated the GPU driver to the latest version. Could you try rolling back the GPU driver or using the ASUS-validated driver version V30.0.15.1278 to see if it improves the situation? Thank you.

@Anbby_ROG I rolled back the ASUS-validated driver using the link you provided and also changed the operating mode to Turbo mode; neither of these solutions produced any improvement. Is there something else I can try?
