Laptop Dying 1 week after warranty?

Please do not ban me! I bought one of the first ASUS laptops from Taiwan, made in Taiwan, about 13 years ago. It lasted me until about a year ago. Actually, the kids are using it now. But since mobile phones have more power than a 12 year old laptop, I thought it was time to upgrade. I got an ASUS Tuf Dash F15. Amazing!!! I love it SOOOO much! 

But! It recently started feeling really hot. The back, right side of it is bending and warping so bad, it cannot even close now. And, it frequently has the Bluescreen of death. I thought, well, worst case scenario, I could get it fixed, right? Wrong. The warranty expired a week ago! 

Is this planned obscelescene? Bad luck? How can my first ASUS last 13+ years and counting, and this fancy new one, only a year??? And advice would help. Thanks.
