Hello,
I have bought my strix G16 about 9 months back
And now i am seeing a dip in the fps in games probably due to the dust build up, not generally facing any other issues, the temps while gaming are about 85 degrees (is this okay?)
Should i clean the laptop myself by opening it ? Will it void the warranty?
The asus helpline really sucks i tried asking , but recieved little to no help, wrong location for the asus support centers. What should i do ? Please help
Is it okay for me to assume the dip in fps to be related to the dust or have i somehow damaged my rig?

Hello,
If the temperatures are not causing the CPU or GPU to downclock as a result of overheating then the issues must lie somewhere else. So where are you seeing this dip in fps / game and what is it you actually notice?
What is 85 degrees and is this a real time reading that you monitor whilst playing the game?
The number and when obtained is important for example.
1) You play a game and unknown to you the CPU is at 100 Deg C, you then minimises the game window to check the temperature in another app and see the reading as 75 Deg C.
Problem here is that when the game is minimised the CPU temp will instantly drop so you are not actually quoting a realistic reading.
2) You monitor the temperature whilst playing the game and have an on screen overlay, this would be a real time value and it reads 85 Deg C. But whilst playing the temperature is actually fluctuating with peaks of 106 Deg C.
In this example, the CPU is actually overheating as each time it goes past 95 Deg C it will reduce the CPU performance, and you lose FPS / responsiveness.
So when quoting temperature readings we need to know the peak temps and average temp whilst under load, that is game is in use and not running as a background app.
Hope that makes sense, so first try to get some accurate readings.

Hardware monitor is good for capturing temp data, you should check the CPU, GPU, press on the + sign and expand all the sensor readings.
If you are playing a game with the CPU constantly over 95 you will have issues.
