Certain letter keys on my laptop keyboard (specifically M, V, Q, , . , C) do not work when pressed normally.
These keys only register when pressed together with Fn or Shift.
Other keys work fine as expected.
I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling all keyboard drivers.
Resetting BIOS to optimized defaults.
Reinstalling System Control Interface drivers.
Checking for any Fn-lock toggles (Fn+Esc etc.).
Testing with an external USB keyboard (which works perfectly).
I suspect it might be related to either keyboard hardware damage or a ribbon cable connection issue inside the laptop.
How to fix this so the keys work normally without needing to press Fn or Shift.
How to check or fix potential ribbon cable issues myself if possible.
Any BIOS or software settings that might cause this strange "secondary layer" behavior.
Laptop Model: ASUS ROG Strix G614JV (TUF Gaming M3 Gen 2)
Windows 11 (latest updates installed)
Latest ASUS drivers installed from official website
No keyboard remapping software running (G-Helper uninstalled)
Cleaned laptop internals recently and did thermal paste replacement.

Based on your description, the issue seems to be hardware-related. To clarify this further, have you tested it in Safe Mode?
If the problem persists in Safe Mode, we recommend sending your device to a local service center for further hardware inspection to pinpoint the issue. Thank you.
