Having a screen issue with my G513RM laptop

I've had this thing for a little over a year now, and it's performed beautifully. But lately it's been doing this thing where I'll start it and the screen either won't turn on or will turn on and show black. This is the weird part: every time this happens, I can connect an HDMI and it'll output to that no problem, it just refuses to recognize that the laptop screen is there, as in it won't show up as a display to output to. I've tried booting into Safe Mode and reinstalling the video drivers which both worked briefly, but completely reinstalling Windows hasn't worked. What do we think?

I would like to confirm if you have tried testing the screen in the BIOS to see if it displays normally. 
If the screen still no display in the BIOS, we recommend taking your laptop to a local service center for further hardware diagnostics. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
