My 5070Ti was stuck on P8 idle power state with a clock of only 180Mhz even when plugged in and in ultimate performance mode. I then used DDU and reinstalled armory crate, which still didnt fix the issue. But then I tried resetting the embedded controller by holding down the power button and hard shutting it down. It worked, and I thought it would be the end of my issues.
Now the new issue is when I start my device with laptop plugged in I get good performance the GPU boosts well above 1700Mhz and ROG OC shows up in armory crate. But if I disconnect the power cord and reconnect it in optimized mode, when the GPU starts back up again it looks like it cant boost past 1312Mhz. I can reproduce this consistently.
Please let me know how to proceed

Hello anbby,
Turns out the issue was with the motherboard. I got it replaced and it works now.
The technician said that it had something to do with the application of liquid metal and when that's not applied properly this issue props up.

Both screenshots are with furmark runnning and settling for around 2 mins. For both of them I was in optimized display mode and turbo setting.
In the first screenshot I started the computer plugged in, disconnected the power and reconnected it. Then after running furmark as you can see even though it had enough thermal headroom it would not boost past 1312Mhz and it was actually stuck at that clock speed.
The second screenshot is after a reboot with the power cord plugged in. The GPU clock would bounce around between 1500-1700Mhz and I got much higher performance as well. (avg fps: 85 as compared with 68)

To further clarify the issue, could you please use HWinfo to record a log while running Furmark for 15 minutes under both scenarios, and provide the following information? We will forward the details to our technical team for investigation. Thank you.

Bios: 305
Windows build: 26100.4351
dGPU driver: Game Ready Driver 576.80
iGPU driver: 24.30.22.19
GPU is in optimized mode, turbo fan mode when plugged in and silent when not plugged.
No external monitors connected.
Only device connected is a wired Logitech G502 mouse, for which I'm using onboard config. None of its drivers are installed(LGHUB).

Thank you for the information. To rule out the possibility that this issue is caused by GPU driver compatibility, may I ask if you have tried using DDU to completely uninstall the graphics drivers and then reinstall the ASUS-validated NVIDIA driver version V32.0.15.7324 to see if the issue improves? Thank you.

Look, I submitted this laptop to an asus service center stating my issue. They claimed it was a "software issue" and gave me my machine back after reinstalling the BIOS and reinstalling windows.
As soon as I got the machine home I was able to reproduce this issue. I am frustrated, I want this taken care of ASAP, as this is a machine that is only 18 days old at this point.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please enable HWinfo to record logs while using the ASUS driver, and also record a video showing the issue (both during normal and abnormal behavior)? After the issue occurs, please use the AsLogDumpTool to capture the system information. Kindly upload all these materials to your personal cloud storage and share the link with us. We will forward the information to our technical team to investigate the issue as soon as possible. Thank you.

When the GPU is stuck in a power mode it also seems to be reporting stupid power draw figures.
On the left is after an EC reset and on the right is when it was stuck at 225Mhz
