Hi!
I've been looking to upgrade my SSD and maybe my RAM while I'm at it for my 2022 G15 GA503RM.
However, I've been having some information gathering issues. Most of what I can find online references the 3080 or 3070 model, or some other derivative of the G15, I have a 3060. Additionally, the RM isn't listed on Crucial, the closest things I can find is the 503RX, which doesn't have the same specs. So, here's the specs as far as I can know, courtesy of My ASUS User Center.
Processor:
AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS Mobile Processor (8-core/16-thread, 16MB cache, up to 4.9 GHz max boost)
Graphics:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, ROG Boost: 1475MHz* at 120W (1425MHz Boost Clock+50MHz OC, 100W+20W Dynamic Boost), 6GB GDDR6
Memory:
8GB DDR5 on board, 8GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM, - Max Capacity:40GB, Support dual channel memory
Storage:
512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD
Expansion Slots (includes used):
1x DDR5 SO-DIMM slot
2x M.2 PCIe
Blah blah blah, I don't think the rest matters.
A lot of the information I've been able to find is at least a little different in some way to what is listed here.
The biggest questions I have (I guess) are as follows:
Is there a device (Specifically on Crucial) that I can use as an alternative? (since the 503 came up completely empty on upgrade suggestions and doesn't have the same specs)
Does anyone have info on what exactly I can put into my laptop (SSD and RAM) without completely messing it up? I know heating issues can be a thing, and my laptop can get up to 95C, but a cooling pad I bought a while ago has actually eliminated the heating problems. (I'm new to all this, I've never done it before and so far all the information I have is to be super careful :') )
Please help, I beg of you!
Thank you.

The GA503RM has one SO-DIMM upgrade, it supports one SO-DIMM with a maximum capacity of 32GB, and its specification is DDR5-4800, dual channel.
Regarding SSD expansion, the GA503RM comes with two SSD slots . Each slot supports up to 2TB.
If you have recommended upgrade specifications for the GA503RS, you can refer to those recommendations to choose a suitable SSD/RAM brand and model. Since the GA503RM and GA503RS have similar hardware compatibility, this should help you make a more appropriate choice.

Small update.
Missed that the G15 GA503RS was listed on Crucial. Still not the exact same model or specs, but at least is a place to start.
New question!
I assume it would be better/easier to replace my 512GB SSD with a single 2TB SSD instead of two 1TB SSDs.

Cool! I didn't realize each slot was 2TB, I thought it was 2TB total!
Thanks so much for the RS suggestion!
I'm not very knowledgeable about dual channel RAM, and a lot of the stuff I've seen is kind of vague on the matter. I'm not really sure if getting another 8gb 4800 would be more efficient for dual channel than, say, 16 or 32gb. Does it matter if the second RAM stick is more than the original? Would they basically run the same, but only 8gb worth of the 2nd stick is dual channel?
If that is the case, is there any practical reason to get more than 8gb? I really only use my laptop for gaming and general use, but with discord, games (especially if more intensive games alone), and other applications open at the same time, at least according to task manager, it can push my memory.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it! 🙂

Dual-channel mode operates by allowing two identical RAM modules to process data simultaneously, increasing memory bandwidth. If the added RAM has a different capacity than the existing one, part of the RAM will run in dual-channel mode, while the excess portion will operate in single-channel mode. The above information is provided for your reference. Thank you.
