Recently my Asus ROG Zephyrus g14 (2023) GA402XV has been experiencing terrible performance in any task using its 4060 laptop gpu. Any application running on the 4060 runs at a fraction of the expected fps. Reinstalling the gpu drivers makes them perform as expected for a while (120fps in furmark) then suddenly the GPU clock starts decaying until it reaches 210.
So far I have tried updating components through windows, myasus and armory crate. Uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them from the support page. Uninstalling myasus, armory crate and reinstalling them. Resetting the bios settings to recommended defaults, using EZ Flash to install the latest bios again, resetting the bios, resetting the pc with a windows installation media.
I have only been able to get the machine to run correctly by first uninstalling the 4060 drivers using DDU. Then performing an EC reset and deleting MyAsus, Armory Crate, ASUS System Control Interface v3 and the Armory Crate Control Interface before finally installing the provided driver Graphic_DCH_ROG_NVIDIA_J_V31.0.15.3645_34896_1. The pc runs as well as it ever has in any task after the 'fix'. The components are not running into thermal issues, and gpu-z does not report anything strange about power draw.
This 'fix' stops working if Asus System Control Interface v3 is reinstalled or the device is restarted.

If you have already ruled out cooling issues, to further determine whether system instability is the cause, we recommend backing up your data and restoring the system for verification.
[Windows 11/10] How to Reset (Reinstall) the Operating System
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

I have reset the system through local recovery and from the cloud recovery feature provided in the bios. After automatic updates I run into the same issue again, and the gpu is locked to 210 MHz once more. The temporary fix mentioned above continues to work and allow for the expected performance in tasks until restart or certain drivers are installed automatically.

Flashing 317 BIOS from the GA402XV support page has thus far seems to return the systems functionality. Though windows update continues to try and push a bios update to 318. I have disabled automatic driver updates in the meantime.
