G713IM Power Port issues

charliem71

Friend of mine told me that replacing a power port on my laptop shouldn't be that hard as I am pretty certain the problem is NOT with my actual battery charger. I plug the charger into the back of my ASUS Rog Strix G713IM gaming notebook and it flickers between "on battery" and "plugged in". I have purchased a power port off Amazon and was surprised how small it actually is. Is the power port actually soldered onto the mobo or no? I've not worked with soldering equipment before, and especially with really small components like the ones inside my notebook. HELP!

Hi @charliem71 ,

Due to uncertainty about the source of the parts you purchased, and considering the stability and safety of the product, we advise against self-replacing or dismantling parts inside the laptop. If you have any repair needs, we recommend contacting your local service team for further assistance. Thank you for your understanding.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
