Hey guys,
As the title states, my G16's CPU is always around 90-95 degrees when I'm gaming, regardless of the game or graphics settings. It is getting to the point where I had it throttle and go into hibernation mode on me once because it overheated. My GPU never goes over about 86 degrees. I'm hoping someone might have a bit of insight or a suggestion. Are these CPU's overclocked from factory or something? I also couldn't find any overclocking settings in the BIOS. During basic tasks like browsing the web or schoolwork, it fluctuates between 56-75 degrees.
Machine: 2024 G16 4080 w/ Ultra 9 185H 2.50 GHz CPU. 32 GB RAM.
I have tried running it in the ultimate GPU mode as well as standard, paired with both Windows and the Turbo fan settings through Armoury Crate. The laptop is plugged into power and on battery-saver mode at 80%.
I have updated my Nvidia drivers and everything else on my laptop including the BIOS. I have propped it up on a cooling pad with a few fans. I run the laptop with the lid open to facilitate better cooling and G-Sync functionality. I have tried tweaking in-game graphics settings, including resolutions. I have tried many different games, from reasonably demanding to as basic as it gets, with the same result.
Display: LG G3 4K TV with G-Sync compatibility run in game optimizer mode and connected via HDMI through a Yamaha A2A AVR.
Thanks in advance.

It's fine, the laptop is pushing gaming performance to the limits but not to the point where it needs to throttle. The temps are generally higher than desktops, it's normal. You can change the performance mode in Armoury Crate if you want.

Thanks for the response. Respectfully, overheating to the point of throttling and shutting down and being 15 degrees away from the max temp of the CPU is not normal or fine, in my opinion. Especially when it happens consistently regardless of the relative load I am putting on the system and only when gaming.

When the system is engaged in high-performance operations such as gaming, video editing, file conversion, or extensive data processing, the temperatures of the CPU/GPU tend to rise. Based on the temperatures you mentioned, they generally fall within an acceptable range. If you wish to further reduce the temperatures, here are some suggestions for your reference:
Laptop Cooling Pad: Choosing a cooling pad that suits your needs can improve airflow around the laptop, aiding in cooling both the CPU and GPU.
We recommend monitoring if there are any performance issues during gaming and whether the temperatures decrease after finishing gaming. This information is provided for your reference. Thank you.

High CPU temperatures (90–95°C) while gaming on the G16 can be concerning but might be expected under heavy loads. Ensure proper ventilation by gaming on a hard surface and consider repasting the CPU or undervolting for better thermal management. Using a cooling pad can also help reduce temperatures. Have you checked your fan settings in Armoury Crate? I also want to share my friend's experience. He is a medical student who often struggles with writing lab reports. I recommended a cost-effective platform called Ukwritings, which I have been using for my own needs. He
