G16 battery indicator flashing orange and system freezing

Ivangin

During use, the laptop freezes and the battery indicator flashes orange. The charger is still connected. Only a hard reset will help. After switching on, the battery is at 100%. It happens randomly and quite often. All updates are the latest and so is the bios.

What is the problem and how to solve it? Well thank you.

Hi @Ivangin ,

Have you used MyASUS to further diagnose if the hardware is functioning properly?
Based on your description, it may be related to a hardware issue. We recommend bringing the charger and laptop to the local service center for further diagnosis. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

I did general diagnostics and only the battery and everything is fine.
I read that several people have this problem with asus (older posts), but I couldn't find a solution anywhere.

EDIT 1/2/2025: A possible cause: PCH Chipset overheating, after a clean install, I noticed the PCH chipset now shows the temperature on HWInfo64, and I noticed that when I plug any usbc devices, the temperature of it increased alot and makes it reach up to 110C. A short solution is to not use any
