External monitor support for ROG Strix Scar 18 (2023) G834JZ-N6020W

I want to buy ROG Strix Scar 18 (2023) #G834JZ-N602 and have a question about external display support.

Can I connect 4 4K@6HZ monitors to it? I understand it has 3 ports: HDMI, USB-C with DP, and TB4, so I can connect 3 4K@60HZ without a dock. Do all ports connected to discrete GPU, when it switched to use only dGPU?

What DP is supported by the TB4 port? DP 1.4 or DP 2? Does it support DSC (display stream compression)? So with the TB4 dock, can I connect 3 4K@60HZ to the dock, and one to HDMI on the laptop?

Or can I daisy chain from USB-C DP or TB4 to have 4 4K@60HZ connected?

I need to know:

• Do all port HDMI, USB-C, and TB connected to dGPU in Ultimate mode
• What version of DP is supported by TB port (and does it support DSC)
• Is it possible to use the TB4 dock station for my case, and what dock Asus can recommend

Hi @fbxl ,

After confirmation, the G834JZ only supports simultaneous output to three 4K monitors (Type C Thunderbolt 4 *1, Type C *1, HDMI *1). All three ports support the use of the discrete graphics card. However, please note that using transmission cables that support 4K is necessary to achieve the 4K resolution.

The TB4 port supports DP1.4. Regarding DSC support, we are currently in the process of confirming with the relevant departments. If there are any updates, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity.

Due to the wide variety of DOCKs available on the market, we have not individually tested compatibility with each one. We recommend that you test before purchasing or confirm compatibility with the retailer. The information provided above is for your reference. Thank you.
