Crackling sound from the built-in speakers on my Asus ROG Scar Strix 18 2023

Il BIOS è aggiornato all'ultima versione, così come i driver audio (Dolby Atmos, Realtek, Intel).
Con le cuffie, invece, tutto funziona correttamente.
Il portatile ha solo due anni, quindi spero non sia un problema hardware.
Qualcuno può aiutarmi?

In short, check out these two forum threads:

The firmware contains a mechanism to degrade driver performance after the warranty expires.

You can try installing the Recovery Install Disk from the Zephyrus G16 (all drivers are the same as for the G614/G814). The 22H2 GU603VU contains registry entries that, for some reason, are missing from the Strix Scar models. Secondly, the drivers are configured for a different audio chip, which eliminates audio interference. Unfortunately, this solution is only suitable for offline use; I'm not sure it will work for online use or with security boot enabled.

You can even replace the .bin calibration files with C9F (the best quality and detail), but you need to do this before the first system boot, via WinPE > regedit. This is pure hell for the average user, and unfortunately, I don't know of any other fixes.

Another cause of crackling noise (VMD and dual-boot conflict)

After fixing SSDT as suggested by Alex https://gist.github.com/lamperez/862763881c0e1c812392b5574727f6ff?permalink_comment_id=4752975#gistc... and using the latest Luke kernel (6.6.3-666.rog.fc39.x86_64) with reset_gpio = 1 for 10431CAF, the sound became perfect.

To eliminate crackling noise, you need to disable Intel VMD (note that when dual-booting Windows, you need to enable it every time). Asus doesn't seem to provide BIOS profiles for laptops?

It is recommend referring to the following FAQ to uninstall the audio device from Device Manager and then reinstall the driver for verification.
[Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Sound (Speakers/Microphones) problems

If the issue persists, since you mentioned that using headphones works normally, it is possible that the laptop’s built-in speakers are faulty. In that case, we suggest bringing your laptop to a service center for further inspection.
