Hello - any idea what causes a brief click noise to occur when laptop fan turns on? Per tech support this is normal:
"Thank you for contacting ASUS Support regarding the brief ticking sound when your laptop fan starts. Based on our discussion, this behavior is generally normal for your TUF Gaming model (FA808UP-NS74) as the fan blades engage from a stationary position. If the sound becomes louder or continuous, please reach out for further assistance".
Thanks!

@Big-e
If you hear a brief click sound at startup, this is generally considered normal.
As long as there are no continuous abnormal noises, rubbing sounds, or vibrations during operation, it basically means the fan is functioning properly. However, if the noise becomes louder or persists, it is recommended to send the laptop to a service center for further inspection.

Hi. Can you please explain what would cause or what happens that makes a new Asus laptop fan click during start deemed normal? Every other laptop I've ever owned did not have a click noise associated with a fan start. Thank you!

@Big-e
A brief "clicking" sound when the fan starts is usually a normal mechanical noise caused by the sudden force on the motor and blades as the fan moves from a stationary state. As long as the sound is not continuous or increasing in volume, it is generally considered normal. However, since we cannot verify the actual condition of your laptop, if you still feel concerned or notice any changes in the sound, we recommend sending your laptop to a service center for inspection.
