Black screen when launching games

I have a problem with three games. They are doom the dark age, resident evil 4 remake and silent hill 2 remake. When I launch it, a black screen appears. It is impossible to minimize or close the game. Alt+F4 does not work. Other games launch fine. I have the latest nvidia drivers and the latest Armoury Crate installed.

I have:

  • ROG Strix G614JV
  • Windows 11
  • Intel Core i5-13450HX
  • GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop 8GB 
  • 16GB ram

I was able to launch Silent Hill 2. During the black screen, I repeatedly pressed alt+f4 and the game closed! After relaunching, the problem with black screens disappeared!

You mentioned that you have already installed the latest graphics driver. We would like to confirm whether you have used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the previous drivers before installing the ASUS-validated NVIDIA graphics driver version V32.0.15.6607 for testing? I installed ASUS-validated driver without uninstalling previus driver and it helped! Thanks! It is not obvious that I should not install the new NVIDIA drivers.

JFYI:

  • Model: ASUS ROG STRIX G16 G614JV-N4072
  • NVIDIA DRIVER: 576.80
  • BIOS: 2.20.0049
