Black Screen Problem While Starting A Game

Hello,

I'm having black screen issues while starting games at my asus laptop. I have reviewed many similar topics for troubleshooting but non of the solutions mentioned were a permanent solution for my problem. That's why I wanted to start a new topic.

Here some details and info:

  • my laptop is rog strix G18 (2023) / G814JV and I'm not using any external monitor, just the laptop (as far as I have reviewed, most people using an external display are experiencing this black screen issues but I have no external monitor).
  • windows, nvidia drivers, bios are all up to date (i guess, i always do).
  • I'm not having this problem while starting only one game, I'm having problem while starting CS2 and Diablo2:Resurrected but never at League of Legends for example. After I started CS2 or Diablo, first I'm hearing a sound like an error occured but i can't see what it is and black screen occures in parallel. If I push some buttons like esc or enter I somehow confirm/cancel the error windows and start to hear game's enterance music/sounds, but black screen keeps staying. I can never get out of the black screen and lastly I have to do a hard shutdown by pushing on/off button of the laptop aprox. 10 seconds. And same thing again and again.

I really look forward to your help regarding the solution,

Thank you,

Is the graphics driver you are using provided by us?
If you downloaded and installed the graphics driver from the graphics card manufacturer's website, we recommend uninstalling it and then downloading and installing the driver from our website to check.
Thank you.

Hello again,

I just did what you recommend and its solved 😉 Thank you very much.

Before I uninstall the graphics driver its version was 580.88, after I downloaded and install the version you recommended graphics driver's version became 566.07 backwardly. So here is the question; shouldn't I let the nvidia app download the new updates and let it run? Should I stay at this version until Asus recommend me the new stable version for this laptop?
