Hello, I’ve pretty much played console all my life and have always had a MacBook for computer. I decided to get a gaming laptop for traveling. So I bought a asus g18 off of eBay. The seller had put a bios password on it and included the password for me to use. I decided that I wanted to delete the password so I followed the recommended steps on asus website. Upon completion it wants me to input another bios password and it isn’t accepting the old password that was given to me. Any help or suggestions here? I called asus support and they told me to send it to them, but I would prefer to try to fix it or make some attempts at fixing instead of sending it off

For your current situation, we recommend first checking with the seller to confirm if there are any additional BIOS passwords that may have been set, as this could help clarify if any password changes have occurred. Additionally, you could try fully powering off the device, then restarting it and entering the password you currently have.
Since the BIOS password is part of your personal information, ASUS respects and protects user privacy and does not retain your password records in our system. If you cannot retrieve a valid password and are unable to use the device, we suggest bringing your device to an ASUS authorized service center for further assistance. Please note that this may incur service fees. We hope this information is helpful.
