BIOS Admin Password Set Without My Knowledge (TUF Dash FX517Z)

Hello everyone,

I recently decided to upgrade my ASUS TUF Dash FX517Z with an additional SSD to dual-boot Linux. However, I discovered that an admin password is set in the BIOS—something I never configured myself. This has left me unable to make any changes or proceed with my upgrade.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

- Using the Alt + R shortcut, but it only types the letter “R.”

-Attempting various default passwords (including those random letters/numbers written on the box).

-Removing the CMOS battery and reinstalling it.

-Confirming that the laptop was purchased sealed (official asus seal) from an official seller.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have worked, and I’m effectively locked out of my own system. Do I really need to go through a legal process just to gain full access to a computer I own?
