Hi people!
Basically as the subject implies, there is this speaker issue that is fairly annoying. Started very randomly: was seeing some YouTube video and all of a sudden the audio logic turned (in a lack of proper technical terms) from the Stereo right/left to Mono only left, as the right speaker just "dies". When performing some sound checks, only the left one "sings", but most akwardly when during the sound check as the right one is supposed to play the cue actually the left speaker highjacks it and everything else audio related!
If I wait a few minutes without no sound reproducing, the system almost seems to reset itself till seconds after you can tell the audio output shifting Stereo to Mono only left.
Super awkward that updating the drivers didn't cut it. Resetting the laptop to factory settings also didn't cut it. BIOS upgrade also did nothing. There is nothing connecting to the laptop and the issue still happens (not even the charger). For testing, with a connected external speaker set up there is no issue, same as with any headphones (wireless or wired. Actually never noticed before the issue because most of the time I am wearing headphones). Seems pretty clearit is an hardware issue right?
Sendin the laptop to ASUS repairs also didn't do it. Here I would like to give a shout out (for bad reaons) to ASUS service as those dudes are like "Yeah for us everything is fine, no issue here after rigurous testing. Trus me bruh". And the laptop comes back home to behave exactly the same! I don't get it: you guys checked this problem for like what, 5 minutes and a time for cigarette, like those dudes in the Louvre?
I have no idea what it is. With a service like this (the laptop was not particulary cheap too), I am seriously thinking not getting an ASUS ever again.
Has anyone had the same issue?

@joaoefmota
Based on the described situation, the issue may be caused by a loose cable or a problem with the speaker module.
We still recommend that you send the laptop to a service center for further inspection.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

As you can see, I wrote that installing the GU603VU recovery driver on my Strix G814 (2023) immediately solves the audio balance issue, but if I uninstall the driver and reinstall it, CONF_0409 will be written to the registry, which will block the audio balance (monomix firmware protection). Zephyrus calibrations sound bad on the G814, but at middle balance.

If you have no other choice but to replace the motherboard, you can Try finding drivers for ISST 79**, 8050 (FX507ZC4), Realtek 9421, and later 9456 Z/J versions. Only then will your audio balance sound correct.
ROG Strix G814JV (2023)
SmartAMP_Cirrus_DCH_ROG_Cirrus_Z_V23.26.47.747_31677_1.exe
ASUS Zenbook 14 (UX3402)
SmartAMP_Cirrus_DCH_Cirrus_F_V23.26.47.725_28995_1.exe
SmartAMP_Cirrus_DCH_Cirrus_F_V23.26.47.754_34314_1.exe
34314 - 28995 = 5319
5320 / 2 = 2660, 28995 + 2660 = 31655
31655 < 31677 = ok
Are you crazy yet? That's not all! If you install two dual-boot systems, and if the Cirrus sound is disrupted in the first system, it will transfer the error to the second system, including Linux! Also, VMD Enable causes sound issues; it's easier to reinstall the system from scratch with VMD Disable enabled.
Also, if Dolby or other sound enhancements are active when installing the Cirrus driver, the driver may not install correctly. Disable them before installation.
Even if you restore the left-right balance via Realtek 9421 (ALC285) + Pin13 (2+1 only) > update 9456 (ALC294) + Cirrus CONF_0405, you may hear slightly reduced high frequencies. This can be fixed by downgrading the firmware to versions 302-313 when the firmware doesn't include amplifier rules and limitations. But you'll lose Dolby surround sound, leaving you with just 2+1.
I sincerely wish you luck. My fix took 10 months of experimentation! I was finally convinced it was a software issue. I hate this stupid audio protection system to the point of paranoia and schizophrenia.

If you replace the digital signature string with "Chicago" in the csaudioext.inf driver,
Signature = "$WINDOWS NT$"
>
Signature = "$CHICAGO$"
Help:
$Windows NT$ - NT-based operating systems (Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003)
$Chicago$ - All Windows operating systems (including Vista/Server 2008)
We'll get a maximum boost in amplifier quality, but nothing else will work except Mono (hard trolling).
To succeed, you need Test Mode and disabled driver signature verification (for security, disconnect from the Internet)

Thank you all!
I will proceed to experiment and keep fight with my sanity too. Will leave here my feedback once I get to a (hopefully) resolution.
Cheers!

I discovered a very unconventional method for fixing speaker imbalance.
I tried installing
https://archive.org/details/UM5302TA_W11CN
This is a copy of the system image that was installed on the Zenbook, which contained the SmartAmp Cirrus 715 driver. Since this image is AMD-based, there is no sound from the speakers on our device after installation.
I followed these steps:
1. Installed ISST 8102 with a Le**vo certificate (my BIOS is 313, so there's no BSOD from the 8102 driver)
2. Installed the Intel driver from the MS catalog (398)
3. Installed the Nvidia driver from the MS Windows update catalog (528)
4. AAF DCH Optimus Audio 10.11.2347.9452 Realtek Mod by AlanFinotty [En]
5. Installed Cirrus 747 (original g814)
The sound appeared, but for the first few seconds, it drastically shifted to the left.
Next, I simply uninstalled the 747 Cirrus driver (csaudioext.inf and csaudio.inf) via DriverStore Explorer, which rolled back to version 715, and my sound is perfect! It sounds mid-range without those idiotic protections designed to trick us into replacing our motherboards every year. The downside of this method, however, is that the Zenbook calibrations are worse than the original C9F from the G614JI. But at least it works.
Perhaps the only solution is for owners of the 12th-gen UX3402 / UM5302 laptop to create a build for us that correctly initializes the Cirrus driver, and we'll install it on our Strix. There's no other way, as our ME/PCH protection will interfere with the driver installation. The only thing we can do is experiment with Linux, but the sound there is less vibrant than in Windows.
