ASUS ROG Strix G614J lowering temperatures

Vdesign83

Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to limit the power levels beyond whats offered in the silent mode? Maybe like a silent mode plus which would keep the CPU and GPU frequencies down. I also don't like that the GPU gets overclocked in silent mode.

Ideally in silent mode CPU temp would stay below 70 degrees.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. (screenshot with silent mode values is attached)

Thanks Silent mode valuesSilent mode values

I just got a new Firmware update and the windows power plan limit settings seems to be working now. Very nice.

Hi @Vdesign83 ,

You can try adjusting the GPU to Eco mode and use Manual Mode to test if it meets your expectations. However, it primarily depends on the software you're using. If it requires high-performance operations, we still recommend setting the GPU and CPU to configurations that match your usage. The above information is provided for your reference.

Hi Anbby,

I was able to get close to what I wanted (GPU wise) by adjusting the Link state power management mode in windows to Moderate power savings. This lowers the GPU OC boost to acceptable levels.

The cpu I still cant get to where I want it as adjusting the max processor state of the silent mode (or any other armory crate modes) makes the cpu go only up to 2 Ghz. I would be happy with range of 3 Ghz up to 4.5 Ghz max.

Could you provide me with the simplest way to set my cpu within those parameters? Either by giving me manual mode values I should use or using the windows power settings.

Thanks
