ASUS ROG Strix G513QM issues with Windows.

A few conversations were closed that was in relation to this I think. Link: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-notebooks/asus-rog-strix-g513qm-freezing/td-p/1049289

But my issue, random freezing, failure to upgrade to 24H3, and constantly re-attempting to.

Specs: Stock ROG Strix G513QM, upped to 32GB RAM, added 2TB nvme

It started with failed windows updates, from what I can see in the logs, for some time, its' failed to update from the previous version and keeps asking to try again and again with code 0xc0000225: Windows 11, version 23H2

Today I felt like I had to fix the problem, so I dug deeper, and decided to just reformat and go straight to 11 24H3. Sadly, it's not going well 😕

Before the attempt to upgrade to 24H3 via clean install, Windows update would attempt to get the install ready and reboot. When it did, the system crashed. ASUS logo, circle stops spinning. If I po/po (power off power on), sometimes bitlocker requires me to unlock the drives, and sometimes it goes back to the circle and stopped spinning requiring a po/po again. At the end, it will boot back to Windows and fail the install. Sometimes it would install without me there, which would be annoying when I am compiling code or uploading videos to youtube and such.

So I created a bootable USB and tried to reinstall. (I did ghost my entire drive via macrium reflect 8 for safe keeping)... first few times, the HDD would light up flashing, and the screen would be blank. sometimes the screen blank, and HDD light not flashing. So I did get worried the nvme was bad. Tested it, and it's fine.

After a few tries, it installed but would keep experiencing freezeups and nothing would work.

So I tried WIndows 10 instead. Same issues.

I did keep notes of what I saw in the system logs and many errors reported were from i8042prt.sys reporting issues, and another one but I didn't write the name off hand oddly -- oh I kind of remember, the Bluetooth had to be disabled to stop something from happening...

I've done drive tests and find the nvme is good, I ran memory tests via memtest, and they passed, I also installed Ubuntu LINUX and initially seemed to work, but won't even pass bootup now....<update> those cables with wires to light the bottom, they are SUPER FRAGILE. the connectors on the sides are gone 😞 no more lights. <final update> now the CPU and GPU fans no longer spin, they sit at 0 RPM and temps just rise and rise.

I'm debating to get the extended warranty since it still says I can, and see if I should send this bad boy back to get repaired but wasn't sure if it was worth it. <update> warranty extension no longer available on this device. boom. just a brick now. didn't last 4 years.

please advise.

Regarding the random freezing issue, have you tried restoring the hardware to its original configuration, updating the BIOS to the latest version, and testing with the ASUS-verified display drivers?

If the issue persists, could you record a video of the freezing situation so we can further investigate?

Since 24H2 still has many pending optimizations, we recommend that you refrain from updating for now. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
