ASUS ROG Strix G17 (2022) Reboot Loop Issue - Advice Needed

BahaaProx

I'm facing a frustrating issue with my ASUS ROG Strix G17

(2022), and I'm hoping for advice or insight. My specs: • Ryzen 9 6900HX • RTX 3060 • 32GB DDR5 RAM

The laptop worked fine for a month, then started randomly rebooting right after powering on, sometimes showing the BDS screen. It would reboot a few times and then work normally for the rest of the day. However, the issue got worse over time: 1. Initially, reinstalling the latest Windows update fixed it for 3 days, but the reboot loop returned. 2. I then did a full Windows reinstall, but it didn't help at all. The system now boots into Windows for a few seconds and then reboots again. 3. I disabled the NVIDIA graphics card in Safe Mode, and the laptop works perfectly without it, which makes me suspect an issue with the GPU.

Troubleshooting Steps I've Tried: • Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers using DDU and drivers from the ASUS website. • Updated Windows and reinstalled it from scratch. • Ran CMD commands like sfc/scannow.

I'm incredibly disappointed because the laptop is practically new, and I've only used it for a month.

Has Anyone Encountered This Before?

If yes how you solved it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Note:Warrant is expired since approximately 2 months.

Based on the information you provided, I would like to confirm whether you have added or replaced the memory? The original factory configuration seems to have 16GB of DDR5. Have you tried restoring the memory to its original configuration to see if that helps improve the issue?

Additionally, you mentioned that the problem was completely resolved after disabling the GPU, which may indicate a GPU-related issue. We would recommend sending the device to a local service center for further hardware diagnostics to identify the problem. You mentioned that the device has only been used for a month but is already out of warranty by two months. If you have warranty concerns, please provide the proof of purchase and the product serial number via private message so we can assist you with further verification. Thank you!

Is the issue could be related to ram or  its not possible?

Thanks for your reply.

After inspecting my laptop, the technician confirmed that there are no hardware issues, and the GPU is working properly.

However, the technician noticed the following behavior:

When the laptop is idle (e.g., on the desktop with no load), the GPU clock speed fluctuates between 1200-1800 MHz.

After a few moments, it drops back to 200 MHz.

These fluctuations might be causing the unexpected restarts.

Could you please help me with this issue or suggest a solution?
