ASUS ROG STRIX G16 G614PR - VERTICAL LINES APPEAR ON LAPTOP SCREEN

Digormo

I bought this laptop brand new from BestBuy on July-12-2025, today December-14-2025 I left yesterday my laptop turn on because I was downloading a few  games on my steam account

Today when I woke up I had vertical lines all over my laptop screen

I barely close the laptop

If i reduce the Hz from 165Hz to 60Hz it starts  blinking way more
What might be the issue?.

If i connect the laptop to an external Tv or Monitor, it shows perfect image, I've already played Cyberpunk and God of war, EA FC26 and Battlefield like this and is not giving me any blue screen errors or FPS drops  so I don't believe this might be an issue with the RTX 5070 Ti

What usually might be the issue with the screen, a crystal, capacitor or even the screen FLEX?

@Digormo
It is recommend that you refer to the following FAQ to reinstall the graphics card driver and verify if the issue persists.
[Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Main (Internal) Display problem
If the problem continues, it may indicate a fault with the display panel. In that case, we suggest sending the laptop to the service center for further inspection.

The following is the contact information:

Also you can contact the local service center for help.

@Falcon2_ROG  Thanks for the reply

It seems I was able to fix the issue, however, what I did was to use DDU and install one of the earliest Nvidia Drivers Version 577.02 (G-sync option was turned on also), I disabled the Windows updates, Nvidia driver updates and unistalled Armoury Crate software (I still have Windows 11 25H2)

However, at the beggining the issue was still happening, I conected the laptop again to the TV (Extended Mode) and set the Hz to 165Hz on my laptop screen and 60 Hz on the TV

I also started using a Dehumidifier on the room and I left the laptop turned on all  day long

After Around 5-6 hours (while I was using the laptop under this time, I had to set the birghtness manually I started with 40-50% and as it was getting less vertical stripes I was raising the birghtness until I reached the 100%, however I decided to set the brigthness to 90% at most) the screen came back to normal with a little watermark  shape where the vertical lines were.

I've just woke up right now and it seems the screen is back to normal

I will be posting an update on this thrend later today after playing some games just to confirm it hasn't happened again (I will have to wait until I get back home from work)

Please @Falcon2_ROG wait until  12/16/2025 to close this post

I really appreciate your help

PS: I don't think I will be upgrading the videocard drivers anymore, I'm really afraid this might kill the Rtx5070 Ti

I'm located right now in Venezuela, Caracas, does the office thats located in Caracas is available?

Can I request a warranty check up on my laptop if I go there to that address? (none issues so far however in still at work so I haven't tried any games at the moment of this message).

@Digormo
If the issue is resolved after reverting to an older driver version, it is possible that the previously installed driver from the graphics card manufacturer caused the problem. Generally, we recommend installing only the drivers verified by us (i.e., those provided on our official website) to ensure system stability.

The service center provides laptop repair services, so you may contact that service center directly.
Alternatively, it is recommended to check with customer support at your local location.

Thanks for letting me know this about the driver

Right now i'm downloading the  driver that says critical

As the website is blocked in Venezuela, I'm using right now a VPN to download it but it will take around 5-6 Hours to complete

After I install the driver and try some games I will let you know

Regarding the vertical lines they didn't appear anymore, however when I did deleted the nvidia video drivers It took around 5-6 hours to get back the screen to normal and I'm still using the dehumidifier on the room

I hope this might help other people that might have the same issue

I'll keep you updated

Thanks for the reply @Falcon2_ROG

@Falcon2_ROG  So far so good, I've downloaded the Driver  from the Asus website and everything is working properly

I disable the windows updates and on the nvidia app I also disable the automatic download for drivers

I will keep this driver for a few months, hopefully it will get a new version on the asus website

Thanks so much for the reply

I still believe it might have been an issue with the humidity on the room and installing also the latest driver

Hopefully if anyone has some sort of issues like this, this post might help them

@Falcon2_ROG you can close this post
