I'm trying to connect a USB-C to DP cable through the laptop's DP USB-C but I can't get it to work. I have two monitors here: an LG 29UM69G-B and an Asus VG32VQ1B, none worked. What's weird is that if I plug the same cable in the second USB-C port (not Display Port) it works perfectly, but in the DP it didn't even recognize the montiors in the Devices Manager.
Some details:
- Laptop Model: G614JV
- OS: Windows 11 23H2
- BIOS version: 329
- GeForce driver version: 566.03
- USB-C to DP cable: 5+ ATC-02
Everything is up to date.
Steps that I've tried:
- Checked every possible BIOS setting
- Remove all cables, including the power adapter, and hold power button for at least 40 seconds
- Installed GeForce driver for my model from Asus download centre
- Uninstalled USB drivers in Devices Manager panel
Have anyone else faced this issue?

Hi, just to update: I've recently tested with a different adapter and it worked. It seems it was a compatibiity issue with the cable I was using.
Thank you @Anbby_ROG for the help.

May I ask if you have tried testing with the NVIDIA graphics driver version V31.0.15.4624, which has been verified by ASUS?
Additionally, have you tested other DisplayPort cables for cross-validation? Thank you!

Hi @Anbby_ROG, yes I've tested with this exact same NVIDIA graphics driver, which had no results.
Unfortunately, I don't have other DisplayPort cables to test at the moment.
It might not be relevant, but just for context: I have one of the monitors connected through HDMI, and it works fine, I can see in NVIDIA control panel that it connects directly to NVIDIA graphics card. Both monitor works through HDMI.
Also tested with only the DisplayPort cable connected, no luck. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. Since the issue with the screen not displaying could be related to drivers, cable compatibility, or hardware, I would like to confirm with you if you have tested the DP port by connecting it to another device to check if the port is functional (for example, data transfer or charging)?

All good 🙂
Yeah it works fine for charging and data transfer. I can connect my phone to it to have it charging and the data transfer notification imediately pops up on both, the laptop and the phone.
I'm currently using the same port with an USB-C dock for keyboard and mouse, without issues. Thank you!

Hello! I have the same problem. My type-c display port was working fine until I've reconnected my monitor.

Have you tried using a C to C cable for testing?
