Asus ROG G17 G71RW (3070ti) Refresh rate only 60Hz

I am using an ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713RW with a QHD 240Hz display, but the internal screen is stuck at 60Hz regardless of settings. In Windows, only 60Hz is available in Ultimate (dGPU) mode, even though the laptop is supposed to support 240Hz. When I switch Armoury Crate from Ultimate mode to Standard (Hybrid) mode, the laptop boots but the internal display becomes completely black, while the external monitor works normally. Windows and Linux both detect that the panel supports 240Hz through the EDID, but neither OS is able to apply anything above 60Hz. When I try custom refresh rates through NVIDIA Control Panel, the display works up to around 144Hz, but flickers heavily or fails entirely above 165Hz, and 240Hz cannot be applied at all. On Linux, xrandr also identifies 240Hz but instantly drops back to 60Hz when applied. The external monitor works perfectly and high refresh rates are normal, which confirms the GPU is not the issue.

I have already tried extensive troubleshooting: performed DDU clean uninstall and reinstall of both AMD and NVIDIA drivers, tried multiple driver versions, updated and rolled back the BIOS, reset BIOS settings, updated Armoury Crate and System Control Interface, used Win+Ctrl+Shift+B to reset the graphics driver, factory reset Windows, and performed full power drain and EC reset. None of these restored 240Hz.

@Dungeon_Master
Based on the described situation, if the same issue occurs across different operating systems while the external monitor functions normally, it is highly likely that the laptop’s built-in screen is faulty. We recommend backing up your data and sending the laptop to a service center for further inspection. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
