Asus G835LX--XS97 Issues

SOLDIERRFK

I bought an Asus G835LX-XS97 and have been having a plethora of issues.

During gaming or anything GPU intensive, the screen may just randomly go black. Sometimes it fixes itself after 15-45 seconds, and sometimes it requires and hard reset.

During startup or sometimes just out of nowhere, the screen will turn grey with blue lines going vertically across the screen. Similar to the issue above, it sometimes will resolve itself and sometimes will require a hard reset.

During gaming or anything that draws a lot of power, my laptop will lose connection to all USB devices currently plugged into it for 10-15 seconds.

I have tried numerous fixes, including driver updates from ASUS and Nvidia, and changing every possible graphics setting in Windows. This issue has been persisting for months, and I've seen several other users with similar issues. Any help from the community or from ASUS would be greatly appreciated.

May I ask if the BIOS version you are using has been updated to the latest version?
Additionally, please confirm whether the graphics card driver you installed was downloaded from our official website or from the graphics card manufacturer’s website.
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

I am using the latest version and this issue has persisted using the graphics driver from your website and the Nvidia App

Please confirm the current BIOS version, system version, OS build, and graphics driver version used on the laptop.

Typically, when running which software does the screen randomly go black? Approximately how long after starting the software does this occur?

When powering on the laptop, if the screen turns gray or displays blue lines, could you please provide photos of the issue and steps to reproduce it?

You mentioned that the laptop loses connection to all USB devices for about 10 to 15 seconds.
What USB devices are connected externally? Could you provide photos of the USB devices connected to the ALLY?
Does the connection return to normal after 10 to 15 seconds?

I have sent you a message, please check it.

Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

BIOS Version: 327

OS Build: Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.26200

Current Graphic Driver: 591.44

The screen randomly goes black, sometimes while browsing on Brave, and sometimes while playing games like Conan Exiles, Clair Obscura, and Vermintide 2, among others.

The screen going grey seems to occur randomly as well, thus it is impossible to reproduce. I do have photos of it, which I have attached.

I have several USB devices connected to include a mouse, stream deck, external Blu-ray player, smart card reader, and wireless Xbox controller adapter. The connection does return to normal after the 10-15 seconds, over the outages occur they occur often in rapid succession. 20251125_204743.jpg20251125_204658.jpg

Since the installed graphics card driver is not a version verified by us, we recommend uninstalling the current driver and installing the graphics driver provided on our official website. After that, please check if the issue improves. If the problem persists, please follow the steps provided in the message to capture the logs during the issue occurrence and share them with us for further analysis. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

I have used that driver before, and the issue has persisted. I will try to wait for the issue to occur and get the logs

I sent you the logs you asked for

Hello,

Just something power related to see if it makes any improvement, in your BIOS or armoury crate do you have the option to set the number of E-Cores to 0? If so can you test this to see if it makes a difference.

The E-Cores are not used in gaming or for most tasks but when the CPU is underload they take power and will also boost high for practically no reason. By having all the E-Cores disabled your CPU will have a greater reserve of power available but also use less power underload.

I just tried your suggestion and unfortunately I got the same black screen while gaming almost immediately
