Asus G713PV Randomly Restarts after event: ACPI thermal zone \_TZ.TZ01 has been enumerated.

I'm using ROG Strix G713PV. The laptop is almost 3 months old and is under warranty.  I'm facing a very strange issue regarding sudden restarts.
Restarts are very random. Normally I face it while switching applications or writing programming codes. Usually not happening while playing games.

I always get an event in Windows before it restarts.

ACPI thermal zone \_TZ.TZ01 has been enumerated.
_PSV = 0K
_TC1 = 1
_TC2 = 2
_TSP = 2000ms
_AC0 = 0K
_AC1 = 0K
_AC2 = 0K
_AC3 = 0K
_AC4 = 0K
_AC5 = 0K
_AC6 = 0K
_AC7 = 0K
_AC8 = 0K
_AC9 = 0K
_CRT = 393K
_HOT = 0K
minimum throttle = 0
_CR3 = 0K

I always use built-in Radeon Graphics until I need to play games. The above issue happens on both the battery and Charger.

I checked the temperature using HWMonitor and it is normal. They are normal. If that is a temperature issue then it should happen while playing games.

My Specs are:
RAM: 16GB GDDR5 4800Mhz
GPU: RTX 4060(Always turned off)

Please help me, What I can do to debug or fix this issue? I have tried replacing the RAM. Doesn't help.

I have exactly the same problem with the same model laptop. Before i removed all the asus bloatware and installed g-helper to control the fans and things and it solved the restarting problem... Instead of having a restart every day it managed to lower it down to 2 or 1 per month. No help from anyone it is just a faulty computer. And yesterday it updated it's bios by itself, and lovely random restarts are back. I hope we can find a solution. Please update here if something positive happens.

Removed the Asus Bloatware and installed G-Helper, I think I followed your instructions on some of your threads. That was helpful.
Apart from that, I made some changes in the bios:

My laptop always got restarted when I got the ACPI thermal zone event logged in Windows. I think Asus services were controlling the bios and Making my system restart based on that event. Removing them helped me.

Currently, I'm using G-Helper now. and I'm really happy with that.

I'm using Bios 329. So far no restarts. But the event still logging but I don't care about that.

Hi Rashi,

Thank you for your response.

Nice to see the solution worked for you too. When i wrote this to support guy here, he asked me to not to recommend non-asus software to people ... But your incident is the second case that asus bloatware is messing up the laptop itself. I wish someone at asus will hear about this but i'm sure nobody will give a ... they will keep telling people to factory-reset, update drivers, update asus software and all the useless bla bla.

Anyways, i will try your bios recommendation soon but I will be out of town for 3 days, will keep you updated when i come back and try it.

Thanks.

Yes. They never accept that the fault is in their machine or apps. It is very painful for them that their  ..... apps are not working fine and that G-Helper is doing better.

We know the consequences of using G-Helper. And we know their apps too.  But here. G-Helper did better. Then sold faulty devices. I think every sensible person is complaining. I have been losing my work because of this.

Just keep me updated about this, please. We're on the same plane. If I get a restart, I'll update you

Hi @rashi_3  @Emrezo ,

We greatly value the issues you've brought to our attention. Based on previous user feedback, the random restart issue should be resolved after using the ASUS-certified AMD Display driver version V31.0.14038.8002.

If the problem persists, please use the AslogDumptool to extract logs and provide the following information via private message. I will forward this information to the relevant team for further investigation. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Anbby,

I understand that asus is forcing you to write the same thing over and over in case of complaints but please try to understand the situation at least one time... I experience the restarting issue because of the armory crate, asus bios and asus hardware. You still keep saying install drivers etc. In the forums one guy even tried linux on his laptop and even then he had the restart issue. It is not the driver or something, it is the computer itself.  Before i tried the amd display driver it looked fine but then one day i was playing a game and forgot to run g-helper and it restarted. Other than that it never restarts while playing games with G-Helper. It somehow keeps the machine much much more stable and i think whatever the guys doing there should stop and start researching what is going on behind and what is g-helper fixing. It occurs with every software, every windows build, every gpu and with or without external monitor, with or without usb peripherals... I even tried it with and without a cooler underneeth the laptop. Results don't change. My laptop restarted once after it updated the bios to 329, which it was doing fine without a restart for long time. Now If i install the armory garbage to record logs, it will be unstable and unworkable. I would expect a huge company like asus to try to replicate the obvious issue in their own lab, get a g713pv, install something and start working, gaming, browsing on it... But it is easier to ask for it from suffering customers... I wish i had my arm broken so that i couldn't order this asus laptop that day...

I was really worried about my laptop once someone said that they were facing the same issue over Linux. That could be faulty hardware.

Hi @Emrezo ,

First of all, I'd like to inform you that the issue of random reboots could stem from hardware problems or issues with the system/drivers. Previously, there were reports from users experiencing similar problems with the G713P model. Based on information and logs provided by other users, we found that this could be a driver-related issue. In fact, it has been proven that updating to newer versions of the drivers resolved the problem for other users. However, as mentioned earlier, the reasons for random reboots may vary from person to person, so we need to analyze various information and logs to identify the root cause of the issue.

Regarding your mention of other users trying Linux on their laptops but still encountering reboot issues, I'm not certain if you're referring to other models or the same model as yours. Could you please share relevant links so that we can confirm the product model and information? Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
