Any fix for keyboard & lights not working? (ROG Strix G512lv)

I've been having a recurring issue where (most of the time after an abrubt restart - due to sound device issue and blue screen), my laptop restarts without the keyboard or lights working.

The trackpad and power button work but thats all. 0 lights. I have been able to resolve this at times by disconnecting all external devices & holding down the power button, which can take a few tries. However this is no longer working.

BIOS & drivers etc are all up to date, I've tried everything I've seen online and in these forums to try and fix this, but still no dice. 

I am able to use an external keyboard. In armoury crate, if I try to customise a setting in the Aura creator, it comes up with an error message about being unable to change any functions at this time. 

I have previously had issues with the keyboard 'sleeping' and not working or the laptop not waking up from sleep - all resolved with holding the power button down etc. 

In similar threads, users have mentioned support sending them a file (specific firmware or control interface fix?) that resolves this.

Is there any further word on fixes to this issue? TIA

I would like to confirm if you have tried removing ASUS System Control Interface v3, uninstalling Armoury Crate using the uninstall tool, and then reinstalling ASUS System Control Interface v3 version V3.1.22.0 and Armoury Crate to see if there is any improvement?

If you have already tried this step and performing an EC reset still does not resolve the issue, based on your description, it may be related to a hardware issue. We suggest taking your laptop to the local service center for further testing and confirmation. Thank you.
