I have a RT-AX88U. I have a printer Canon G5070 that uses only 2.4G WiFi. I noticed that after a few weeks of use, AirPrint keeps failing, my iPhone and Mac either cannot find the printer or cannot connect to it. Resetting and reconnecting the WiFi on the printer doesn't help. What did seem to help, was rebooting the router.
I'm not sure if there's anything building up in the router after prolonged use that causes instability in the WiFi that requires a reboot to clear. For what it is worth, I'm not observing any obvious issues with other wireless devices. The issue could be peculiar to the specific printer, but I have brought it back to the service center before and they could not find any issue with it.
