Asus had a corrupt ADS file in theor server that got uploaded to routers and caused a memory leak. Its possible its related to that. Backup routers config. Do a NVRam reset.. Hold the WPS button while you power the router on for 30sec and then let it go. Upload config file to get all your settings back and see if the issue continues.
Asus offical responce to it:  https://www.asus.com/ca-en/news/tp8wqrkgqbd4rrw7/?fbclid=IwAR3rJE5lnQ7FwmtH1akToRaSsgjCi-HDhAThDhslc...

So I forgot to mention that when generating your backup file there is a checkbox to exclude passwords in the file for troubleshooting purposes so maybe that is important to think about when generating backup files ie maybe create 2 - 1 to keep and 1 to ship if you need to send info to tech support.

Thank That did Fix the Issue, I hope that never happen again, FYI getting the Setttings.cfg  to download is a pain. I think you should get with Microsoft to fix this issue.

usually backing up the config should be a simple process..  Goto the Admin section on the left then click the save settings button.. no need to check the box. and the file should download to your defualt download folder.  then use the upload button when complete to upload your old settings file save some time from having to manually set everything back up.

Quick question...when you reset the router as described above using WPS, then set new user and password....when you restore the router config is the admin user and password the NEW one of is it admin password taken from config file?

I believe it uses the password from the config save.. But im not 100% sure i have not tested that.

I do not know because I use the Same Password that was in the Config file

Also the RT-AC3200 is an End Of LIfe product, and the recommended replacement is the XT8:

https://www.asus.com/event/network/EOL-product/

If someone is considering buying this product right now I would advise to consider the XT8 instead...

if contacting asus support they will make you change the router access password to asus1234 .. few times i had to contact them and send my config file they had me do that.
