ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Dead

ROG Rapture GT-BE98-Dead,
Had the new router for three weeks and now it won’t power on it’s dead, just the power light & the ROG rgb stays on in green then tries to reboot every 5 minutes & rgb turns red while it’s rebooting then rgb turns green again, can’t login in the admin page computer can’t see it, there's no Internet and no Wi-Fi, happened all of a sudden, tried resetting multiple times & rebooting multiple times, put router in restoration mode & used ASUS Firmware Restoration app to uploaded current firmware nothing is working, was working fine, ROG Rapture GT-BE98 was the main unit in a mesh system with two ROG Raptor GT-AXE 16000,

Hard Reset:

  • Confirm Power: Ensure that the router's power cord is securely connected.
  • Reset Button: Use a pin or other sharp object to press the reset button on the back of the router and hold it for about 10 seconds until the indicator light flashes.
  • Reconfigure: After resetting, please reconfigure the router, including the Wi-Fi name, password, etc.

Check Cooling:

  • Ventilation: Place the router in a well-ventilated location, avoiding blocking the vents.

Record Syslog:

  • Syslog can record detailed information about the router's operation, helping us analyze the cause of the problem.

Please refer to the following steps to record feedback Log:

1.Connect your device to your router and log in to Web GUI(http://www.asusrouter.com)
2.Find “Administration,” and tap “Feedback”
3.Fill in your region, email (required field), ASUS Service No./Case No.(not required),Select the feedback problem and description.You can also write down comments/suggestions. More details might help us to analyze the issue you have encountered in a faster and more efficient way.
4.Read the agreement and click “I agree.”
5.Tap “Send” to submit your feedback.
Then provide the product serial number, the time of submitting the issue report, the email used for filling out the issue report, and the time when the issue occurred via private message.

To help us better understand your issue, please provide the following information:

  1. Router Purchase Date:
  2. Firmware Version:
  3. Are there any abnormal sounds or smells:
  4. Syslog Logs (if available):

reset button (procedure) will not work, power light will not flash no matter how long you hold the reset button, have tried 10 seconds & multiple different lengths, it will however go into recovery mode & accept the firmware, then restarts to the same problem,

  3. Are there any abnormal sounds or smells: no smells , sounds or rattles
  4. Syslog Logs (if available): can not access the router web GUI

I have used ASUS ROG routers for a long time & had just about every type & not one of them has ever let me down, this is a first, thanks.

Since you are unable to log into the Web GUI to record a Feedback Log, our backend engineers are unable to analyze the root cause of the problem through the logs.

  • Send it to a service center: Send the product to the nearest authorized service center for inspection and repair by a professional engineer.
