ROG GT6 - devices keep connecting to far node

Kenyan
Level 8

I live in a 4 story townhouse and I have 4 nodes, one on each floor, all connected via wired LAN. The main router is in the basement which is the furthest from ost of my devices. Why do most of my devices connect to the basement router instead of the nodes on each floor?

For example, my PS portal wants to connect the the basement even though I am on the 4th floor sitting 5 feet from the wired node! Which causes lag and slow connections.

I’ve tried different channels, resetting the nodes to factory and re-connecting, ive tried moving the units around… any ideas??

Hi @Kenyan ,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding the connection issue you are experiencing, we recommend that you try binding your device to a specific AiMesh node to ensure stable device connectivity.

You can refer to the following frequently asked questions (FAQ) to learn how to configure it:

[AiMesh] How to bind my device to one specific AiMesh router or AiMesh node? | Official Support | AS...

Through this setting, you can specify that the device preferentially connects to a stronger or closer AiMesh node, thereby improving connection quality.

If you encounter any problems during the setup process or need further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I’ve tried that multiple times but it keeps saying that the it was a weak connection. Even if I am right he next to the node. Any ideas?
