How to upgrade FW on a faulty router?

Don't know why the AXE16000 will not upgrade its FW?

Anyone managed to upgrade from a faulty unit?

Regarding router updates, we offer updates on WebGUI and manually.
Please refer to the detailed steps in [Wireless Router] How to update the firmware of your router to the latest version ? (ASUSWRT) to proceed with the update.
If there is an inoperable part of the process, please let me know which is it.

The router seems to go through updating when you manually select a file but actually stays on the same FW.

Or router bootloops if you let it try to auto update.

Router will not upgrade to 388 versions.

According to the firmware version on the official website of the ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000, there are several versions of firmware labeled as .388.
Could you please specify which firmware version you are currently using and which version you are trying to update to?
Additionally, have you attempted updating to the latest version by following the steps of "Update on WebGUI"?

I am also still working with support.

Router will not upgrade to ANY 388 version,including Merlins,regardless of which method used.

If I had the receipt it would be RMA'd.

Just want to know if the problem affects day to day running or is limited to 'upgrading'.

Could you please specify which firmware version you are currently on?
If there is a large firmware version gap, it might be possible that the update cannot be completed successfully.
If you are currently on version.386, we recommend trying to manually update to the latest.386 version available on the official website, which is 3.0.0.4.386.50168.
After completing the update to this version, proceed to update to the first.388 version, which is 3.0.0.4.388.21617, and see if it can be updated successfully.

Sent feedback to support and they gonna get back to me.

There has been previous AXE16000 with same problem.

Regardless of which FW used or which method to flash it always fails.

I understand this was purchased from somewhere/someone other than an ASUS outlet.  Are you flashing firmware from the correct ASUS website/locale?  (Not sure if this was covered, but I’ve read they may be locked to a certain market)…

Looks like I'll have to sell it,spares or repair.

Unlike my gskill ddr4 memory which has just failed.

Original returns has ran out but gskill themselves offer RMA.

Although to point out gskill offer lifetime warranty on their memory.

But still,router is within its warranty period so would expect a good company to honour it.....
