Z890 Asus Maximus Hero - BIOS screen is completely black, and the display appears only after entering Windows 11
My new PC cannot show the BIOS screen, and the display appear once Windows has loaded. This issue only happens when I connect via DisplayPort. If I use HDMI, I can see the BIOS screen normally. In Windows, I tested the CPU and GPU, and all benchmark scores are normal. Here is my new PC spec where I found the issue
- Core Ultra 9 285K
- Z890 Asus Maximus Hero (Bios 2006 - 2025/07/29)
- RTX 4090 Galax HoF (Already used NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool - 11/18/2022)
- PG27AQDM
- Windows 23H2
Previously, I was using a Ryzen 9 5900X with an X570 Asus Crosshair Hero. The VGA, monitor, and Windows were the same as with my new PC. On that system, the DisplayPort output showed the BIOS screen normally.
So, my questions are
- Does anyone know how I can make my new PC display the BIOS screen via DisplayPort?
- Is Asus working on fixing this issue in a future motherboard BIOS update?
- If i change to CPU and motherboard to 9950x3D and X870E Crosshair hero, will this issue fixed?
- Which device should I consider changing to fix this issue? i.e. monitor and etc.
Thank you in advance.
